So you're new to the comic eh? Welcome to the neighborhood and I hope you enjoy your stay. If you want generic info about the site, check out the About section for the site. This section will guide you in your exploration of the comic and figuring out where to get started. Further down is a list of major characters in the comic as well as a breakdown of the major storylines that we've done so far.

Hover Text - Hey newbies, there's hover text for all of the comics. So yeah, make sure you move your mouse over the comics for extra comments. Some of them are even funny!

The Beginning: Comic #1 - You can't really go wrong with starting at the beginning. I mean, it's the first so the most logical place to start!

Black and White: Comic #53 - I think comic 53 is where I started to hit a nice stride in the style of humor of the comic and in my choice of art. This is also right after the shift from full color to black and white for the comic. This is a good place to start if you want more of the recent style of humor and art that is present in the comic.

Dr. Science: Comic #76 - The first ever comic with Dr. Science! If you don't want to miss the introduction of the first recurring character of FOCS since the introduction of the main cast, then click this link.

Five O'clock Shadow focuses mostly on one-shot comics, but we do have some longer stories involving the main cast. So check them out at the links below and enjoy!

New Friends - While not the first introduction of any of the main cast of characters, this is the first plot line involving all of them. This storyline involves a simple trip to a diner turned upsidedown. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8

First Appearance: Comic #1Gavin -
Profile: Gavin is an easy going, fun, guy who does whatever he feels like doing. He has some issues with sanity and isn't afraid to put his life on the line to do something awesome. He has been friends with Leo for years and the two have formed an odd friendship.

First Appearance: Comic #1 (Yeah that's Leo in the background)Leo -
Profile: Leo is the 'normal' friend of Gavin. He typically gets shoved around and talked into doing various things that he would prefer not to do. Still you have to question the sanity of someone who would continue to hang around people who abuse him as such.

First Appearance: Comic #6Tessa -
Profile: Tessa is not only crazy, but a genius. Her intellect enabled her to build Rob, a sentient robot who destroyed the city, and a high tech laser cannon. Still, her passion, disregard for rules, and spontaneous personality are what truly make Tessa a threat to everyone around her.

First Appearance: Comic #6Kat -
Profile: Kat is a seemingly normal and nice girl who has been friends with Tessa and Leo for years. However, she can have some serious delusions and sometimes loses herself. If not rallied by reality, Kat can get stuck in her fantasies, dragging others down with her.

First Appearance: Comic #6Rob (1.0) -
Profile: Rob is a small robot which was created by Tessa. His loyalty to Tessa causes him to take part in her crazy schemes and go on a mad rampage when she forgot him one day.

First Appearance: Comic #76Dr. Science -
Profile: Dr. Science is a crazy scientist. I don't want to say he's "mad" because he doesn't do evil science or even have any well defined goals. He just creates for the pure joy of it. Recently it was revealed that Dr. Science is actually Kat's father who has recently moved to the city for unknown reasons.

First Appearance: Comic #76Jeffrey -
Profile: Jeffrey is Dr. Science's assistant. He aids Dr. Science in his various projects, points out flaws in logic, prevents the destruction of the universe when necessary, and is a general buzz kill for Dr. Science's more "fun" ideas.
